About Me

My name is Don Nelson.  I was born and raised in NE Texas though I have lived in NE Ohio for about 16 years now.

My background has been fairly diverse having worked as an Electrician for almost 20 years and spending 12 years as a member of the IBEW Union before returning to college.  After graduating from Texas A&M University in Commerce, TX, I transitioned from the blue collar world to the corporate world.

I have traveled extensively since that time and have visited all the states of the USA except for Hawaii and Alaska.  I have also had the opportunity to visit may other countries including Hong Kong, China, Japan, Thailand, Germany, England, Sweden, Canada, Mexico, Venezuela, Brazil and probably some others that I’m forgetting.  I am thankful for these unique experiences as I learned a lot from my travels.

I feel that the most important thing I have learned is that there are good people and bad people wherever you may go.  I long ago came to the conclusion though that there is nowhere I would rather live than the U.S.A.  I also know that many of those that I have met in other countries share that same patriotism for their home lands.  I would never wish to move to another country and try to change it to be the same as the U.S.A.  I also have no tolerance for those who wish or demand to come here and then insist that we change to be like the country that they left.
