Don’t take it personal?
A few days ago an old friend responded to my post about unfollowing friends that are far left leaning liberals because I am sick of all the left wing lies and bias. His response was that he would probably continue to follow me and just skip over my political posts and advised me not to take it personally. OK…I had to sit on that for a couple of days and let it sink in. I had to think it through, was he right? Do I take it too personally?
Well after giving it a lot of thought I now have an absolutely clear mind on how I feel about it. Yes, I do take it personal. Should I?
Left wing liberals and most Democrats will vote for Hillary in spite of the ample evidence of corruption, lies, deceit, etc. If I have a friend who is posting all those lies on their Facebook page and elsewhere then he or she is doing all they can to help get her elected. What does that mean to me and why should I take it personal?
You may be voting for her because of a single issue but what you are supporting is everything that the liberals believe in. I know a lot of Democrats who love to hunt but also just love guns in general. Whether it be for home defense, target shooting, hunting, whatever. Yet many of them are also union members so they will vote for Hillary because they think that the Democrats are the champions of the working class. Many of these people may also disagree on many other of the Democrat platform issues but will still vote for her just for their one single issue. Taking away the rights of responsible gun owners is a personal issue for me. If you are doing all you can to get her elected then yes, I take that personal.
Left wing liberals want to make all public restrooms gender neutral. All you have to do is say that you identify as the opposite gender and enter the restroom of your choice. Obama has already tried to force that mandate onto all public schools through his directive. If we let the liberals force this upon us then my grandkids will be forced to share what should be there privacy with any pervert that chooses to exploit this “right”. Liberals are not interested in compromise in any way. There is a school being sued now for refusing to allow this even though they sat aside ANOTHER restroom for this student. No, that is not good enough. They demand that the student be allowed to use any restroom he or she wants to. This is a personal issue to me. If you are doing all you can to get her elected then yes, I take that personal.
The left wing liberals have attacked Christians for years now. There have been multiple lawsuits brought against schools for allowing school prayer, prayers before athletic events, etc. There have young people expelled and put on academic probation for reading their bible during special reading times, recesses, etc. Yet we have public schools making special accommodations for Muslims sitting aside private areas for the prayer times throughout the day. If you are a Christian and feel that baking a cake for a gay or lesbian wedding goes against your beliefs and refuse, you will be sued and financially ruined for standing by your beliefs. If you are a restaurant in Maine that refuses to serve somebody who believes in gun ownership, EVEN if you aren’t actually carrying in their establishment, the left will support your right to refuse service. This is personal issue to me. If you are doing all you can to get her elected then yes, I take that personal.
If you are supporting Hillary and trying to help get her elected, you have to realize that you are getting everything that she stands for, not just a single issue that you may be in favor of. All the things that I have listed above and much more will be decided over the next couple of years by the Supreme Court. There does not have to be a change to the Constitution. Politicians are too spineless and corrupt to vote for something like that. It will be legislated from the bench. The Supreme Court will NOT change the law, they don’t have that power. They will simply “interpret” it in a way that guts the Second Amendment and anything else that the left wing liberals are in favor of. Hillary will change the balance of the court so that all of these things will come to be.
This is personal to me. If you are doing all you can to get her elected then yes, I take that personal.

Racism and Immigration
I am a conservative. I almost always vote republican because though I feel that they have abandoned their core consituants they are the less of two evils at this time. I was born in the south and raised in a small NE Texas town. For most people outside of the south, that would make me a redneck. Though I don’t necessarily agree with that label, I am not ashamed of it and will wear it proudly if that is how you choose to characterize me.
Here are the facts though. Just because a person is conservative and opposes illegal immigration does not make them a racist. As I stated in another post, I have traveled a lot in my life and met a lot of fantastic people all over this world. Not only have I met with them during my normal course of business but have also been honored to visit with them as a guest in their homes, been to dinner with their families, and many other activities outside the business world. I have made great friends in countries that I may not agree with on a political level but learned that the people are pretty much like people that I meet here at home. Most just want to live happy and fulfilled lives and be able to provide for their families. Some of the kindest and most sincere people I have met were in China, Thailand, Mexico and several other countries. I sincerely enjoyed the time that I spent with them and would have no problem at all with the majority of them living next door to me.
I am also adamantly opposed to the U.S.A. not securing their borders and upholding the laws already in place in regard to anybody coming here illegally. While most people crossing our borders illegally are simply looking for a better way of life, once they come here illegally, they have broken our laws and are criminals. Our government is constitutionally required to uphold the laws and yet make no real effort to stop the flow of illegal immigrants or to aggressively find and deport those here illegally. Our elected officials are supposed to work for us and are supposed to uphold the laws that have been passed by our elected officials.
The most important function of our government is to ensure the security of the American citizens. A country without secure borders is not secure in any way. Immigrants coming into the U.S.A. must be fully and properly vetted to to ensure the safety of the American people regardless of which country they are coming from. It is way past time to vote out all these career politicians who refuse to uphold the laws of our land.
I am not racist. I just believe that we should obey the laws that are already on the books. I have compassion and empathy for people of all races and nationalities. I will never be agreeable though to any path to citizenship for people who became criminals when they crossed our borders illegally.
The purpose of my political posts
Just a little note about my political posts. If you are devout Democrat or left wing liberal, my posts are not directed at you. I do not post my opinions for the sake of argument. One thing I have learned about the left is that their minds are entirely different than mine and they are as firm in their liberal opinions as I am in my conservative ones. I realize that I am not going to change how you think and you are certainly not going to change how I think. I think that this is a very important election for the direction that the United States heads over the next 20 – 30 years and maybe forever. Presidents come and go but the next one will likely shape the Supreme Court for at least the next two or three decades. Yes, the very future of our country lies in the balance of this election. I will continue to share my opinions and do all that I can to try and make people realize what is at stake here. The USA could very easily end up looking like Europe, much of which is falling apart, over the next few years. If you are a left leaning Democrat or liberal, that seems to be exactly what you want or at the very least your single issue such as your union, pro-choice/pro-life stance, etc. are more important to you than the big picture. So if that is where you are then it doesn’t matter what I post or say, I’m not going to change your mind. My hope is that there are still some undecideds that can perhaps be educated and understand what lies ahead of us if the liberals win this election. Those are the people that my posts are directed at. If you are on the other side of the political spectrum and want to use your blog to try and win them over to your side, you have every right to do that. Keep it off my page though. I’ll do the same for you and ignore whatever you post on your own page. I probably won’t see it anyway because I don’t typically torture myself by reading the liberal talking points. The point is, I won’t argue with you here. I’ll probably delete your posts and ignore you. I’m tired of arguing and what it does to friendships. Use your blog how you wish and let me use mine how I wish.
Random and probably useless thoughts
So what is a blog? Heck if I know. I just know that I see a lot of them and decided what the heck, I’ll give it a shot.
What you will see here, when I get around to posting anything, are random thoughts that I have about pretty much any topic that comes to mind. Of course right now we are in the middle of the 2016 Presidential campaigns and because I may have a thought or two about our choices, I will likely be sharing various thoughts, news stories, etc. regarding the decision facing all of us at this time. A lot of my initial posts will likely be repeats of things that I have already posted on Facebook so if you are a Facebook user and a friend there, some of this will be a repeat for you.
Now just to warn anybody who may stumble upon this page, I will tell you right up front that I lean a little to the right. I don’t know that I really consider myself a Republican but that is how I am registered and is how I vote because at this time, I consider them the less of two evils.
You are welcome to comment on anything that I post here but ONLY if you are capable of clear and rational thought. In other words, agree with me. 🙂
So if you have nothing else to do, please check back from time to time. Like I said, this is brand new to me so I don’t know how often I will be updating this page but will try to add new comments and articles on a fairly regular basis.
